Edinburgh’s Top 5 Golf Courses

1. Craigentinny Golf Course

This is one of the most dramatic golf courses that Edinburgh has to offer. In addition to boasting a solid, 18-holes spread across 5511 yards of fairway, the Craigentinny Golf Course provides simply spectacular views of one of Edinburgh’s most beautiful natural attractions – the cluster of hills known as Arthur’s Seat.
Being within such close proximity to the city itself, you can easily walk to the course from any Edinburgh city centre hotel. Here you’ll be able to play across a range of meadow, parkland and water hazards, in the shadow of Calton Hill. There are also a number of tricky par three and par four holes, which are bound to test even the most seasoned golfers!

2. Duddingston Golf Course

The golf course out at Duddingston features a classic inland design, with long fairways and a great, well-tended green. The 18-holes at this course offer a good level of challenge, even for the more experienced golfers. The course covers a total of 6525 yards, and you’ll find a warm welcome waiting for you in the course’s clubhouse.

3. Baberton Golf Course

This is another attractive inland course, which can be found at the picturesque area known as Juniper Green, just beyond the city limits of Edinburgh. This 18-hole golf course covers a total distance of 6129 yards, and offers a good combination of fairways, greens and hazards.

4. Braid Hills Golf Course

Brain Hills is another course which offers a superb view out over the city of Edinburgh. As you play the 18-holes at this historic course, you’ll be able to gaze out over Edinburgh Castle, Arthur’s Seat, and the scenic North Berwick Law. Looking out across the Forth, you can even see as far as Fife on a clear day.

5. Bruntsfield Links Golf Course

The course at Bruntsfield is very much based on the open-plan, Highland design of golf courses. It has a lot in common with the golf courses you might visit from hotels in Perthshire – where long strips of fairway are bordered by moor-land and heather. However, at a par 71 this course will be accessible to experts and novices alike, while simultaneously providing exceptional views out over the surrounding landscape.
